Sea Shipment: 1st Try

As you all know, we received our air shipment (about 400 lbs of our stuff) at the end of August. The sea shipment, which contains all the rest of our stuff (including furniture), should have only taken 2-3 months to be delivered, yet here we are in month 4.

Well, we were told that our sea shipment was supposed to be delivered today at 8:30 am. Hooray! Finally! Yesterday I got everything ready: washed and packed up the borrowed dishes and miscellaneous kitchen supplies, moved the borrowed furniture into the spare room, etc. Scott took today off to oversee the movers. Then, at 8:30 this morning, the moving company called and said that they wouldn't be able to make it by 8:30 (clearly)...maybe they would be able to come this afternoon...or maybe not until tomorrow. They claimed that because there are festivities later this week for Cartagena's independence and the national beauty pageant, they are having some sort of problem getting the truck out of the port and into our neighborhood...or something like that (we don't really understand).

We waited all morning and of course they didn't show up. Scott called them again at 2:00 and they said they weren't coming today. Lovely. They told him that they will try again tomorrow, but I won't be surprised if we don't see our stuff until next week. Grrrrrr!
