Where Are We?

Cartagena (or officially, Cartagena de Indias) is on the northern coast of Colombia, right on the Caribbean. Our neighborhood, which is circled on the map on the right, is called Bocagrande (Large Mouth). We overlook the Bay of Cartagena.

A few fun facts:
-Colombia has beaches on both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean.
-Northern Colombia is above the equator, so it's summer here.
-Colombia is divided into 32 Departments and 1 Capital District. Cartagena is the capital of the Bolivar Department.
-Cartagena was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984.
